What Is The Cause Of US Gun Violence?

DRUGS,  ORGANIZED CRIME,  TEACHING METHODS,  WEATHER,  VIOLENCE ENCOURAGING INTERTAINMENT,  POVERTY, LACK OF OPPORTUNITY, FAMILY STRUCTURE?

With reasonable equality in gun ownership, why does the USA murder so many more people with them than Canada?

It is estimated that for every 100 people in the United States there are 94.3 guns. We rank number 1 in public gun ownership in the world. In Canada there are between 50 to 75 guns for every 100 people. They rank among the second placers (numbers by Wikipedia )

America suffers 3.60 gun homicides per 100,000 people per year. ( 2011)  Canada has 0.5 murders by firearm per 100,000 people ( 2009 )  The murder method of choice in Canada despite the rather high number of firearms they have, seems to be death by stabbing.
